All that the suspicious-minded need is a 3G mobile phone and the software. The service, MobileMonitor, has proved a success in America, where it went on the market last year. Cenuco, the company behind the application, is now in talks with Orange, the mobile operator, to market the product in the UK. The company Cenuco, say that the application was developed from an earlier version aimed at parents wanting to monitor the au pair to ensure they weren't harming their child while they were out. They soon realised it had a far wider use. With MobileMonitor, the partner never know that they are being watched because the camera is wireless and only a few inches tall, and can be hidden easily. The system will show pictures from up to four cameras positioned around the home. Analysts have said that for the mobile phone operators such applications are valuable tools in their effort to promote 3G to a wider audience. The new phones which enable the downloading of music videos, games and made-for-mobile television clips and will have significant appeal to the youth market.
